The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was killed in a Nov. 23 crash at the intersection of Route 20 and Harmony Road in Coral Township.
According to a Coroner’s Office news release and media reports, a 1999 Ford Expedition driven by John Burke, 54, also known as John Dimauro of Woodstock, was driving north on IL Route 20 when it was struck by a 2007 Hino 268 box truck that was driving east on Harmony Road.
The accident occurred at around at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office’s preliminary investigation indicates the box truck did not stop at the stop sign. Burke was pronounced dead at Sherman Hospital.
On Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, an autopsy was conducted, and the preliminary cause of death is multiple injuries. Toxicology samples were sent to the forensic laboratory for analysis, the Kane County Coroner’s Office said. The Coroner’s Office is cooperating with all police and fire agencies in their ongoing investigation of the incident.
