Go ‘Over the River and Through the Woods’ on Nov. 25 Nature Walk

Too much holiday food? Tired of shopping? The Kane County Forest Preserve District has a great alternative.

Come to LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve for “Over the River and Through the Woods,” the Forest Preserve’s popular, post-Thanksgiving guided walk from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25.

Instead of traipsing to the stores on Black Friday, you’ll watch for wildlife, learn about adaptations for winter, and maybe see a wild turkey or two. You won’t go over the river, but you’ll walk over Ferson Creek via foot bridge, and hike through the woods.

All ages are welcome. Bring the whole family! Advance registration is required for this free program. Call 630-444-3190 or e-mail programs@kaneforest.com to register.

LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve is located at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.
