East Dundee Offers Funds For Residential Facade Improvements

East Dundee officials have announced the return of the Residential Façade Improvement Program for the 2017- 2018 fiscal year. Property owners of single-family, owner-occupied residential properties within the village of East Dundee can submit a completed application from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2017.

Village President Lael Miller says this is a great opportunity for residents to make the village a little better.

“We’re offering this program because it’s good for both the property owners and the village,” Miller said. “When property owners improve the overall exterior appearance of their homes, it adds to the image, desirability and vibrancy of the village as a whole.”

East Dundee has allocated funds for this program from video gaming revenues and approved projects will be reimbursed up to a limit of 50 percent of all eligible services or $5,000, whichever is less.

Examples of projects eligible for the program include new siding; fences; tuck pointing; pitched roofs and improvements to front patios and walkways.  Work must be completed by March 31, 2018 in order to receive reimbursement. Upon submission, all applications will be reviewed by the Village Staff and Board and require strict adherence to the guidelines of the program.

Complete details on the program’s requirements and eligibility can be found on the village’s website at www.eastdundee.net along with an application. Calls can also be directed to Doug Bergren, economic development director, at 847.426.2822, Ext. 6116.
