Elgin, Aurora and Naperville Residents Killed in Friday-Morning Wrong-Way Crash on I-88
Illinois State Police have reported that two drivers and a passenger from Elgin, Aurora and Naperville were killed at around 12:55 a.m. today (Friday, Dec. 2, 2016) in a wrong-way crash on I-88 in the area of Warrenville and Naperville.
According to police and media reports, a 2012 Toyota Camry heading west on I-88 lost control, hit a wall, spun around and crashed head-on into a 2007 Chrysler 300 near Mill Street just after 12:55 a.m. Friday.
Illinois State Police said a 2012 Toyota Camry driven by Domenic Andreoni, of Elgin was driving east in the westbound lanes of I-88 near mile marker 125.75 when the Camry crashed head on into a 2007 Chrysler 300 driven by Ali Erhaima, 32, of Aurora. Andreoni, Erhaima and a passenger in the Chrysler, identified as Shiva Inampudi, 40, of Naperville were pronounced dead at the scene.
I-88 was closed in the westbound lanes for about five hours during the early-morning hours.
