Elgin Once Again Records Most Weekend Snowfall in Kane County

Elgin again led Kane County snowfall totals for the weekend, according to stats provided by the National Weather Service Chicago.

The “City in the Suburbs” recorded 5.8 inches of white stuff for the two-day period prior to 7 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016.

A second Elgin site recorded 3.9 inches. St. Charles was next, with 3.4 inches and Geneva recorded 3.3 inches.

The forecast for Monday, Dec. 19, includes a Wind Chill Advisory until 10 a.m. It will be sunny, with a high near 12 degrees and wind chill values as low as minus 31. South southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph will increase to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
