The first thing you notice when you come to Kane County Animal Control to spend time with Page, a 5-month-old female Siberian Husky and Australian Cattle Dog-mix, is that she has one brown eye and one blue eye. It’s almost as though an artist was interrupted before he could add the brown or the blue to the other eye.

The second thing you notice is that she’s a little shy at first around strangers, but if you take the time and allow her to approach you, before you know it, she has made the decision all on her own that you seem like someone she can love. On that whim alone, she somehow makes it into your lap, and you are now on the receiving end of her licking your face and begging to get more pets and hugs.

A sweet and smart young lady, she exudes the countenance of fine breeding, even a regal quality, while at the same time giving you her best puppy grin. After Page has made you fall in love with her, it’s important to note that her shy nature will require a bit more work than with other puppies her age, especially when around men.

Staff at KCAC believe that she will do extremely well in a quiet home and as an only dog until she can have the time to work on socialization with other canine buddies.

If you take a little time to get to know Page, you will have the best friend any human being could ever have!

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25. The adoption fee for dogs is $200 and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300 and it is $150 to adopt two cats.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
