Drain Tile Repair Completed on Bowes Road in Elgin
Drain tile repair work on Bowes Road is “substantially completed,” the Kane County Division of Transportation announced today (Monday, Dec. 12, 2016).
The project, located about 500 feet west of Long Common Parkway, replaced an existing 10-inch clay drain that was previously damaged to restore flow and reduce future maintenance to the existing drainage tile system.
Off-road site restoration work remains to be completed, which is expected to have minimal to no impact to the motoring public.
“The county appreciates your cooperation and patience in order to make this project a success!,” KDOT’s news release said. Questions and concerns may be directed to David Sitko at 630-313-0754.
Work started on Nov. 28, and all bicyclists and pedestrians were advised to avoid using the area during construction for the safety of both the workers and the residents. The work required shifting west bound traffic on Bowes into an unused median during the duration of the project for improved contractor access and increased motorist safety.
