What Cold? Kane County Students’ Hot Photography Will Warm Your Heart Dec. 15
Baby, it’s cold outside, but who cares? On Thursday, you’ll have a chance to come inside and see some of the hottest student photography in Kane County.
The Third Annual Student Photography Exhibition — set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Water Street Studios in Batavia — will feature the best of the best high-school-student photography from the Regional Office of Education’s nine-week “Wow” student photo contest of 2016.
On Thursday night you’ll get a chance to see not only the mind-blowing work from students at 12 area high schools, but the looks on students’ faces when they receive trophies created by Image Awards presented by Regional Superintendent Patricia Dal Santo.
The evening includes music performed live by the Batavia High School Orchestra Strings Trio, and delicious appetizers hand-crafted by Batavia High School’s Culinary Arts Department.
With 508 submissions from students over the course of nine weeks, narrowing down the submissions to the top 10 from each week was a great challenge because all the photos submitted were at such a high-quality of work. In fact, we couldn’t stop ourselves from featuring another 10 photos this week.
Consider this a “Wow” bonus edition — a chance for us to showcase some of the outstanding photos that were submitted during the contest that weren’t featured in any of the previous top 10 lists.
