Charles E. Petersen Appointed 16th Circuit Associate Judge
The judges of the 16th Judicial Circuit have appointed Charles E. Petersen as the circuit’s newest associate judge. Petersen was selected from a field of 27 candidates.
Charles E. Petersen was admitted to the practice of law in 1977 and began his legal career with the Kane County State’s Attorneys’ Office. He moved to the Law Offices of Shearer, Blood, Agrella and Boose in 1981 and later moved to the offices of Clancy and Associates in 1983. He then transferred to Presbury and Associates in 1985 and remained there until 2015 when he became a partner in the firm, Porro, Niermann and Petersen.
Petersen is a graduate of West Aurora High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Bradley University and his law degree from John Marshall Law School in 1977.
Peterson is a member of the Kane County Bar Association. Peterson is expected to take the bench on Jan. 20, 2017. His court assignment has yet to be determined.
