Community Resource Expo Showcases Local Volunteer Opportunities

There are so many wonderful organizations dedicated to making Kane County communities a great place to live, work and play, and many could not operate without the help of people like you.

The Batavia Park District will showcase those local resources from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Eastside Community Center, 14 N. Van Buren St.

“It is such a gift to live in a community like Batavia that has a vast collection of organizations and services for everyone to utilize or assist with,” said Batavia MainStreet Executive Director Jamie Saam. “These organizations have been built to aid in every possible need. The Community Resource Expo allows people to gather information and interact with these organizations, opening up the doors of future use and partnership. Batavia MainStreet finds it very valuable for us to participate and interact with the community in attendance.”

Stop by the Community Resource Expo to chat with representatives from local groups to find out how you can get involved and donate your time, expertise or resources. Whether you’re interested in animals, education, or the arts, there’s sure to be an organization that matches your passion!

Additional spots are available for non-profits interested in becoming a vendor at the expo. The cost is just $15, which includes an eight-foot table, recruitment opportunities and refreshments. Download an application online at www.bataviaparks.org.
