Starting the week of Jan. 30, 2017, tree removal work will begin on Bliss Road from Capitol Drive to approximately 350 feet northeast of the entrance of the Bliss Roads Forest Preserve near Sugar Grove Township, according to a news release from the Kane County Division of Transportation.

During the work, there may be temporary single-lane closures with flaggers directing traffic. Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. This work is anticipated to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.

The work is being done in advance of the bridge replacement that will occur in Spring 2017.

The above-mentioned road will remain open during treatment, but will be reduced to one lane of travel using temporary daily lane closures. Motorist need to be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, and be extra alert. Motorist must watch for and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone.

Drivers should expect delays while traveling through the work areas. KDOT asks that you consider adding time to your commute and use alternate routes while this work is being completed.
