‘Ride in Kane’ Program Offers Transport For Seniors, People With Disabilities
The Ride in Kane program is a curb-to-curb paratransport service available to residents in Kane County. The program allows seniors and individuals with disabilities to request transport for daily needs, such as appointments or commutes to work, at a lowered rate. Rides can be requested during normal hours seven days a week, and can be scheduled up to seven days in advance.
Ride in Kane offers door-to-door transportation bus or taxi service and operates in partnership between Pace Suburban Bus, Kane County and many local service partners who are sponsors of the program.
Fares for Ride in Kane start at $4 for the first 10 miles, with a mileage charge for trips over 10 miles. Transportation services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and on any day of the year, including holidays.
In order to participate in the Ride in Kane program, individuals must be registered with a sponsor, which could be a Kane County municipality, township or social service agency. Not every location in Kane County is covered by Ride in Kane.
