Kane County Hosts Power-Packed March 3 Veterans Assistance Forum

The Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission will host a power-packed veterans forum March 3 in Geneva.

Jake Zimmerman, superintendent of the county’s Veterans Assistance Commission, will be joined by three people who have a tremendous impact on veterans legislation and health benefits: Hines VA Hospital Director Dr. Steven Braverman, Chicago VA Regional Director Hughes Turner and 14th District Congressman Randy Hultgren.

The forum will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at the Geneva American Legion Post 75, 22 South Second St. in Geneva.  More details can be found by clicking on this link.

“A special ‘thank you’ goes out to American Legion Post 75 and their members for hosting this event,” Zimmerman said.

The forum will address pressing issues with the VA healthcare system. Hultgren, Braverman and Turner will hear directly from veterans and answer questions at the forum.

“Veterans deserve our utmost respect, and that includes making good on our promises to them,” Hultgren said. “I look forward to joining our local veterans, their families and key representatives from the VA to discuss and address ongoing issues and concerns with VA healthcare, disability, pensions, survivor’s benefits, job-seeking assistance and other services for veterans.”
