Aurora Chamber Offers ‘Leadership Academy 2017’

The Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce is offering a unique opportunity for future business leaders.

It’s called the “2017 Leadership Academy,” and it has a rich history of providing confidence, knowledge, professionalism, and strong leadership skills that not only benefit the attendee but also their employers.

The Leadership Academy is offered to representatives of member businesses and organizations and is designed to prepare a select group of qualified candidates for future leadership roles in the Aurora area.

During the past 35 years, more than 800 community leaders have participated in the program. Many have gone on to lead local businesses and organizations. Some have gone on to public office. All have left their mark on the community.

With the encouragement and support of the Dunham Fund, the Academy has completed its first phase of redevelopment. This year’s program focuses on the unique strengths of the Aurora-area community and encourages a diverse mix of participants to engage in our community’s success.

The academy begins March 3. The registration deadline is Feb. 24.

The full tuition for the program is $450 for Aurora Chamber members and partners. For non-members, tuition is $750. If you require assistance, please contact the chamber.

The course includes 30 hours of class time in 10 meetings and will focus on personal and professional development of the participants through a personality inventory identification and leadership development. In addition, the unique positioning and potential of the Aurora region will be highlighted with discussions on community and economic development, local government and cultural diversity, as well as civil and social services.
