Feb. 28 Aurora Primary Will Whittle Mayoral Candidates to 2

The list of four candidates vying for mayor in Aurora will be whittled to two following a Feb. 28 primary election.
The mayoral candidates on the Feb. 28 ballot are Linda Chapa LaVia, Richard E. Guzman, Richard C. Irvin and Michael B. Saville.
Aurorans have an opportunity to vote in the primary on Democratic and non-partisan ballots.
Democratic voters also have an opportunity in the Feb. 28 primary to weigh in on the Aurora Township highway commissioner and trustee races.
Democrats can select one of four candidates running for Aurora Township highway commissioner. Those candidates are Mark Semmler, Jason D. Owens, Juan Reyna and Kevin Allen Hale.
Each Democratic voter can vote for up to four candidates out of seven seeking a position on the Aurora Township Board. The seven trustee candidates are Dolores M. Hicks, David W. Moore, Juanita T. Wells, Richard Leonard, Helen Ratzlow, Brenda Hernandez and Rigo Mendez.
The Aurora Election Commission only handles the city of Aurora’s portion of Kane, Kendall and Will counties. For Aurora voters who live in DuPage County, visit the DuPage Election Commission‘s website for election information.
The Kane County Clerk’s Office oversees elections in Kane County outside the Aurora city limits.
