Longmeadow Parkway Right of Way Preparation to Begin Feb. 13

The Kane County Division of Transportation will start Longmeadow Parkway right-of-way preparation during the week of Feb. 13.

According to a KDOT news release, right of way preparation, including tree removal, will take place along Longmeadow Parkway from just west of Randall Road to Karen Drive near the village of Algonquin within Kane County.

During the work, there may be temporary single-lane closures with flaggers directing traffic. Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The work is anticipated to take about four weeks to complete.

The work is being done in advance of the roadway improvements that will occur in spring 2017.

KDOT asks motorists to be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution and watch for and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone. Drivers should expect delays while traveling through the work areas and may want to add additional time to their commutes and consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.

As always, KDOT reminds drivers that it is illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone.

Questions and concerns may be directed to Patrick VerHalen at 630-208-3138. For all Kane County traffic advisories, see KDOT Traffic Alerts.
