Nesler Road Will Close For Fitchie Creek Bridge Replacement
Nesler Road will closed to through traffic from South Street to Bowes Road to allow for the replacement of Fitchie Creek Bridge.
The closure will take place on March 1 and is scheduled to continue until Sept. 10, 2017, according to the Plato Township website.
The website says a map of the detour route will be posted shortly before the closure takes place.
The second phase of engineering for the project was completed last month, and Dunnet Bay Construction Company of Glendale Heights was the low bidder at $727,790, coming in well under the estimate of $879,704.
Eighty percent of the work will be paid by federal highway and state motor-fuel-tax funds. Plato Township’s “Hard Road Tax” funds will not be used in the construction of the bridge that carries Nesler Road over Fitchie Creek.
