Sign Up Now for Free Boating-Safety Course March 18

The Kane County Forest Preserve police are sponsoring a boating safety education training course, offered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

This beginner boating course will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a boat license or safety certification in many states. The course is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Forest Preserve District headquarters, located at 1996 S. Kirk Road, Geneva. The class will be held on the third floor of the building.

Topics include: basic boating safety; equipment and requirements; motorboat registration and titling; navigation; basic maintenance; emergency measures; and Illinois boating laws.

This training course is free, however, pre-registration is required. Call 630-232-5980 to register.
