Geneva Announces Return of Swedish Days 5K Run

Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Geneva Running Outfitters have announced the return of a 5K run to Swedish Days Festival supported by Northwestern Medicine.

The Swedish Day 5K Lopp will commence on June 24 at 7:30 a.m. from Gunnar Forest Preserve in Geneva (behind the Kane County Government Center) at 719 S. Batavia Avenue in Geneva.

Located along the scenic Fox River in Geneva, the Swedish Days 5K Lopp promises a unique race experience, as organizers encourage runners to outfit themselves with a Scandinavian theme.

Unique Swedish Days awards will go to top three male and female overall finishers and medals will be awarded in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over.

The $35 registration fee includes a T-shirt and pancake breakfast. In order to guarantee a shirt at packet pickup, you must register by June 14. Race day registration is $40.

In addition there will be a Kids’ Dash for ages 1 through 8 beginning at 7:15 a.m.
