Ciao! My name is Guido, and I’m a 10-year-old purebred beagle brought to Kane County Animal Control as an owner surrender.
I don’t know why my people decided to give me up after all these years, but I’ve definitely got my nose pointed toward my future forever home.
In Italian, my name means leader or guide, which is pretty fitting considering my nose hits the ground the minute I get up in the morning. As I search out any small critters or food crumbs you might have dropped, I wag my tail the entire time to let you know I’m on the scent of something important!
My favorite pastime is exploring the great outdoors. Although I may not be able to hike the back trails like I used to when I was a little guy, I’ve still got enough spring in my step to keep up with the best of them.
If you throw a toy, I’ll fetch it and bring it back to you after I jump on it and toss it in the air. I know how to sit and come and, better yet, I know how to climb on your lap and give you all the love you need.
So, for now, arrivederci! I hope to see you soon!

Kris, the happy hound, pit bull mix, has found his forever home at last. Here’s to the many incredible adventures Kris will experience with his new fur-ever family. Congratulations!
Minnie, a 6-month-old French Bulldog mix was adopted by a wonderful family willing to give her all the love and training she can handle. This small pup with a big personality and a lot of love to give has probably sniffed out all the best places to lounge in her new home already. Congratulations, Minnie!
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee for dogs is $200 and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300 and it is $150 to adopt two cats.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
