POW! Tri-Color Winnie Is One Beautiful Beagle

“She’s a beagle true-bred, and one that adores me.”

– Shakespeare, Twelfth Night, Act 2, Scene 3

  • KCAC’s Adorable, Adoptable Pet of the Week is written by Tecla Metzel of Kane County Animal Control.

When you first meet Winnie, Kane County Animal Control’s 3-year-old female Beagle, be prepared to take some time to get to know her. A shy little miss, she’ll need to check you out to make sure you’re up to her standards.

But it won’t be very long at all before this sweet and loving tricolor canine will cuddle herself onto your lap and begin her kissing routine. Once she’s got your full attention, you begin to see how truly amazing she is.

Although she gazes at you with sorrowful Beagle eyes, she’s anything but sad once she’s got her halter on and is ready for that brisk walk with you. Her tail is nonstop and her nose is to the ground as the two of you explore every ditch, crevice, and nook and cranny together.

Because Beagles have a tendency to show their stubborn streak, it is important that Winnie get positive training alongside her new family members. She loves playing with other dogs and will probably benefit from living in a home with a canine buddy so she can run off some of her energy.

How to Adopt
