This Spring, Give Your Preschoolers a Chance to Explore the Natural World
Children have a natural curiosity and desire to explore the natural world.
Now, preschoolers in Kane County have a unique opportunity to learn about the wonders all around us in spring nature programs by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.
“Hibernators,” “rain” and “flowers” will be the themes for spring’s preschooler nature programs.
‘Nature Tykes’
In “Nature Tykes,” 3-year-olds explore the natural world through a variety of activities with their parent or caregiver. Sessions include a combination of stories, nature hikes, songs, games and crafts.
- On Thursday, March 23, “Wake Up, Hibernators” will be the theme.
- On Thursday, April 27, “Why Does It Rain?” will be the theme.
- On Thursday, May 25, “Flower Power,” will be the theme.
“Nature Tykes” programs run from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Creek Bend Nature Center. Registration is $5 per child, per session.
‘Little Naturalists’
“Little Naturalists” is the Forest Preserve District’s hour-long program for 4-year-olds.
Children will discover the wonders of nature through a variety of activities including songs, hikes, stories, games and crafts. This program is for the young participants. Parents, caregivers and siblings may enjoy the trails of LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, or wait inside the nature center, during the program.
- On Thursday, March 23, the program topic will be “Wake Up, Hibernators.”
- On Thursday, April 27, the theme will be” Why Does It Rain?”
- On Thursday, May 25, “Flower Power,” will be our theme.
