According to the Township Officials of Illinois website, there are 1,431 townships in the state, 16 of which are here in Kane County.

Township governments provide a variety of services, including property assessments, rural road construction and maintenance outside city limits and senior services.

Elected offices within township government in Kane County, IL, include supervisor, assessor, clerk, highway commissioner and trustee.
