KDOT Holds Public Hearing Thursday (April 27) on Roundabout at Bliss Road

The Kane County Division of Transportation is holding a public hearing regarding intersection improvements and realignment of Bliss Road near the intersection of Main Street and Fabyan Parkway.

The general scope of the work is construction of a modern roundabout.

The hearing is set for 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Batavia Park District Civic Center’s Bartholomew Room, 327 W. Wilson St.

The hearing will be in an open-house format. Exhibits will be on display, and there will be a continuous audio-visual presentation. Attendees are encouraged to provide verbal and written testimony to a court reporter to be included as part of the public record and speak with KDOT project team members.

KDOT is also seeking comments on impacts the project will have on the Dick Young Forest Preserve, owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. The project includes the acquisition of right of way and temporary easements. This is an opportunity for the public to comment on the additional public land needed for the project.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Jennifer O’Connell, senior project manager, at 630-406-7333. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to the KDOT Office or submitted electronically to oconnelljennierfer@co.kane.il.us.

Comments must be received by May 12, 2017.
