Two Days of Bridge Inspections on Kirk Road to Begin April 20

Weather permitting, on April 20 and 21, bridge inspectors will be conducting inspections on the Kirk Road over the Union Pacific bridge in the city of Geneva.  The work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction to allow the inspectors to access the roadway.

Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work zone and may want to add additional time to their commutes. Motorists must reduce their speed, watch for workers and vehicles entering or leaving the site, and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone. Please consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.

A reminder from KDOT: It is illegal for drivers to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone.

Questions and concerns may be directed to Mike Zakosek at 630-406-7346. For all Kane County traffic advisories, see KDOT Traffic Alerts.
