Churches Hold June 5 Blood Drive in St. Charles
St. Patrick and St. John churches will be holding their quarterly drive with Heartland Blood Centers at St. John Neumann Church from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017. The address is 2900 East Main St. in St. Charles. Heartland will thank each donor with a pulled pork sandwich, a $5 Target gift card, and points to redeem on its website.
A photo ID is required. For donors age 16 a permission form signed by a parent or guardian is required. This can be downloaded from the Heartland site.

What are the general eligibility requirements?
- A donor must be in good health and feel well.
- A donor must provide valid photo identification.
- A donor must be at least 17 years old. Sixteen-year-olds are eligible to donate with written approval from a parent or guardian.
- A donor must weigh at least 110 pounds.
What factors might disqualify or defer my donation?
- Fever, persistent cough, sore throat or chest congestion may temporarily disqualify a donor.
- Donations from individuals taking certain medications may be deferred because of an underlying medical condition.
- Travel to certain parts of the world may have exposed potential donors to specific diseases, which can be cause for deferral.
