Cougars Memorial Day Weekend Kicks Off With Pro Wrestling Night

 The Kane County Cougars are kicking off the start of the summer season with a multitude of activities over the Memorial Day weekend and beyond.

Beginning on Friday, May 26, and continuing until Thursday, June 1, fans will be treated to theme nights, a ballpark campout, post-game fireworks shows plus giveaways as well as the wonderful food and family fun that everyone can enjoy as the Cougars take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins) and Burlington Bees (Los Angeles Angels) during a seven-game homestand.

Friday, May 26

6:30 PM vs. Cedar Rapids Kernels (gates open at 5:30 PM) – Professional Wrestling Night

  • Cougars Reading Club Parade — Cougars Reading Club participants are encouraged to take part in pre-game parade around the field.
  • Family Four Pack Fireworks FridayFour reserved seat tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and a giant bag of popcorn for just $39. Not available for day of game purchase.
  • Professional Wrestling Night — Appearances by Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake including an autograph session on the center field deck. $5 cash per autograph with a limit of two autographs per wrestler for a limit of four total autographs.
  • Fireworks Show — A dazzling post-game fireworks show, set to an alternative rock playlist, will light up the sky.
  • Run the Bases — Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).

Saturday, May 27

6:30 PM vs Cedar Rapids Kernels (gates open at 5:30 PM)

  • Brookfield Zoo Ticket Giveaway — first 1,500 fans will receive a ticket for free general admission into Brookfield Zoo.
  • Cougars Reading Club and Scout Parade — Cougars Reading Club participants and all Scouts in attendance are encouraged to take part in a pre-game parade around the field.
  • Jesse White Tumblers — The high-flying acrobatic group will provide post-game entertainment.
  • Fireworks Show — A post-game fireworks show, set to a country music playlist, will light up the sky after the game.
  • Run the Bases — Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).
  • Three Fires Council and All Scout Family Campout — Following the game, campers and Scouts will enjoy a post-game movie (The Lego Movie) on the videoboard and spend the evening under the stars in the Cougars Campground. A hot breakfast will be served the following morning. Open to all Three Fires Council Groups as well as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownie Troops (reservations required).

Sunday, May 28

6:30 PM vs. Cedar Rapids Kernels (gates open at 5:30 PM)

  • Cougars Reading Club Parade – Cougars Reading Club participants are encouraged to take part in a pre-game parade around the field.
  • Pre-game Autographs – Fans will be allowed onto the field for a pre-game autograph session with Cougars players.
  • The 85th Army Band – The Army Reserve Band will treat fans to a patriotic pre-game performance on the field.
  • Sunday Funday, presented by Dave & Buster’s – Entertainment and discounts in the KidZone area including half-price wristbands
  • Kids Eat Free – All kids between the ages of 3 and 10 will receive a voucher at the gate for a free hot dog and small soda.
  • Fireworks Show – A patriotic themed post-game fireworks show will light up the sky after the game.
  • Run the Bases – Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).

Monday, May 29

1 PM vs Cedar Rapids Kernels (gates open at Noon)

  • Gas Card Giveaway – The first 1,500 fans age 16 and older will receive a gas card, presented by The PRIDE Stores.
  • Cougars Reading Club Parade – Cougars Reading Club participants are invited to take part in a pre-game parade around the field.
  • Micro Monday – All craft and premium beers will be available for 50% off.
  • Run the Bases – Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).

Tuesday, May 30

6:30 PM vs. Burlington Bees (gates open at 5:30 PM)

  • Cougars Reading Club Parade – Cougars Reading Club participants are invited to take part in a pre-game parade around the field.
  • Seniors Half-Price Tickets – Seniors (age 65+) can purchase box, reserved or lawn seat tickets for 50% off.
  • Run the Bases – Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game.

Wednesday, May 31

11 AM vs. Burlington Bees (gates open at 10 AM)

  • Cougars Reading Club Parade – Cougars Reading Club participants are invited to take part in a pre-game parade around the field.
  • Seniors Eat Free – Seniors (age 65+) will receive a voucher at the gate for a free hot dog and small soda.
  • Seniors Half-Price Tickets – Seniors (age 65+) can purchase box, reserved or lawn seat tickets for 50% off.
  • Run the Bases – Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game.

Thursday, June 1

6:30 PM vs. Burlington Bees (gates open at 5:30 PM)

  • Kyle Schwarber Poster Giveaway – The first 1,000 fans will receive a poster featuring former Cougar and World Series champion, Kyle Schwarber, courtesy of Northwestern Medicine – Delnor Hospital.
  • Thirsty Thursday, presented by Miller Lite – $1 beers, hot dogs and sodas.
  • Run the Bases – Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).
