Heads Up For Roadwork in North Aurora the Next Couple Weeks
Construction work in North Aurora is in full swing this week, with storm sewer, water main, street improvements and water tower painting affecting traffic flows. Here’s an update from the village of North Aurora.

Airport Road, Alder Drive, and Ice Cream Drive
Last week (April 23-29, 2017), underground storm sewer was installed along Ice Cream Drive and Alder Drive. This week (April 30-May 6, 2017), the underground storm sewer will continue to be installed along Airport Road.
A posted detour will begin starting the week of May 8, 2017. The detour will only allow westbound traffic between Lincolnway and Randall Road.
Smoke Tree Lane
Last week, the village mobilized construction equipment to the job site, removed the surface of the roadway and prepared for the installation of water main. This week (April 30-May 6, 2017), trenches will be dug for water main installation.
The Tinseltown USA Cinema remains open and will have access at all times. It is recommended employees and business owners use Evergreen Lane to avoid the construction.
2017 Street Improvements
During the week of April 30-May 6, 2017 construction activities are being scheduled, advanced notice will be provided to residents impacted by each project. Streets to be improved include Deerpath Road, Feltes Lane, Magnolia Drive, Acorn Drive, Alder Road, Cherry Tree Court, Seavy Road, Mitchell Road and Wingfoot.
Cherry Tree Court Water Main
During the week of April 23-29, 2017 the water main and water services were completely installed tested under pressure and chlorinated. During the week of April 30-May 6, 2017, the consulting engineer is working to develop a restoration schedule to repair disturbed areas. The restoration may begin during this week.
Orchard Gateway Boulevard Water Tower Painting Project
During the week of April 23-29, 2017, the interior painting of the water tower on Orchard Gateway Boulevard was completed to 90 percent.
During the week of April 30-May 6, 2017, interior painting will continue, the next step will be the painting of the exterior. This operation is heavily dependent on weather. Strong winds and rain are a concern.
