Lane Closures on IL 64 Over Ferson Creek and Mill Creek

Lane Closures on IL 64 Over Ferson Creek and Mill Creek

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that lane closures will take place on IL Route 64 over Ferson Creek and IL Route 64 over Mill Creek, in Lily Lake and Campton Hills, beginning this week. The closures are necessary to replace the box culverts on the structures that carry Route 64 over Ferson Creek and Mill Creek.

In order to complete the work, Route 64 will be reduced to one-way traffic with temporary traffic signals at both locations. Brookside Drive will be closed at Route 64 for the duration of the project with a posted detour that will direct traffic around the construction site.

The overall project will be completed in summer 2017.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.

The road project is one of several taking place in the area. One lane of Randall Road in St. Charles closed May 2 and will be closed until May 4, depending on the weather. Beginning today (Wednesday, May 3, 2017), the city of St. Charles will be closing one lane in each direction of Kirk Road (County Highway No. 77) just south of Tyler Road for utility work related to St. Charles’ construction of a solar-powered substation. Lane closures on Kirk Road will continue for about four weeks.
