After 30 years with the North Aurora Police Department, Chief David Summer will retire on May 17.

“Chief Summer has been a dependable and committed member of the North Aurora Police Department and has demonstrated strength of character and leadership during his tenure as chief,” village officials said in May 5 e-blast. “He has also strengthened the relationship between our community and the department, promoting good will through community involvement and interaction.”

You can express your appreciation and offer best wishes to Summer during an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the North Aurora Police Department, 200 S. Lincolnway.
