Superheroes walk the halls of Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital every day, but they are usually in scrubs or office attire.

On National Superhero Day on April 27, patients, families, physicians, nurses, and hospital staff donned capes to celebrate their super powers.

Lurie Children’s at Delnor Hospital hosted a super hero parade, arts and crafts, and snacks for area preschoolers to honor the hospital’s superheroes.

Pet therapy pooch Sheco joined in the celebration with an Underdog cape, while handler Don Cote, of Geneva, zipped around the hospital as the Flash. Costumers with a Cause volunteers, who were dressed as Captain America, Super Girl, Buzz Lightyear, and Disney’s Moana, lead activities and visited patients. And representatives from the Geneva Police Department shared superhero tips with young visitors.
