Sheriff’s Office Investigates Death of 26-Year-Old Batavia Man Hit By Car at His Residence
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 26-year-old Batavia man who was struck by a vehicle early this morning (Monday, May 8, 2017) at his rural residence.
According to the report, Kane County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 2S800 block of Meadowview Road in unincorporated Batavia Township at around 2:45 a.m. for a report of a vehicle that had struck a person.
The initial investigation indicates that two subjects, Jeremy Kostrzewa of the 2S800 block of Meadowview Road in Batavia, and an unidentified female from North Aurora were outside the residence.
“At some point the female, who was visiting the residence, struck the male with her vehicle,” said a release by Sheriff’s Office Lt. Pat Gengler. “The male, who lived at the residence where the incident took place, was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The 29-year-old female was transported to an area hospital.
The incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
