Batavia’s Free Summer Concert Series Kicks Off June 14

The Batavia Park District and Batavia Rotary Club present the River Rhapsody Concert Series, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Batavia Riverwalk.

The concerts will be held on select Wednesdays throughout the summer from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will feature a variety of musical acts. Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Concessions will be available courtesy of Bernie’s Bully Dogs.

Wednesday, June 14 — Red Woody. Great songs from every decade. Some of the artists covered are Journey, Matchbox 20, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Mellencamp, Poison, and more!

Wednesday, June 21 — New Invaders. The New Invaders perform a wide variety of hits from the 1964 British Invasion including the American bands of the time through the Woodstock era of 1969. It’s truly a magical musical journey back to a groovy time when great music was important.

Wednesday, June 28 — Pirates Over 40. Since 1999 the “Pirates Over 40″ have been successfully entertaining audiences all over the Midwest with fun and energetic renditions of your Tropical favorites, including Jimmy Buffett, mixed with an eclectic mix of oldies and classic rock, all performed in their own uniquely tropical flavored style.

Wednesday, July 5 — RockStar Rodeo. These guys and gal deliver one of the most high-energy and professional Country performances in the Midwest. One minute you’ll feel the energy as the crowd sways their hands side to side while singing Wagon Wheel, and the next minute, they’re playing the air guitar to an ageless hit like Shook Me All Night Long.

Wednesday, July 19 — The Rockin’ Fenderskirts. Put on your blue suede shoes and rock around the clock to your favorite rock ‘n roll oldies.

Wednesday, July 26 — Bopology. A musical tribute to the Rat-Pack and Swing era, Bopology focuses on 50’s and 60’s style music. You won’t want to miss this top Chicago area swing band!

Wednesday, Aug. 2 — Soda. This band features four experienced musicians who capture the heart and soul of one of the most diverse playlists you’ll find anywhere. You’ll hear everything from Johnny Cash and Dave Matthews to Styx and John Mayer.
