Danimal, Otis Will Be at Cougars ’85 Bears Night Friday, June 16

A pair of Chicago Bears legends will visit Northwestern Medicine Field for ’85 Bears Night at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 16.

The night will feature appearances by Otis Wilson and Dan Hampton. Each player will be available for a pre-game autograph session when the gates open at 5:30 until 6:10 p.m. on the center field deck (autograph location subject to change). Following the first autograph session, both will head to the field and throw out a ceremonial first pitch at 6:24 p.m.

An additional autograph session will take place on the center field deck (autograph location subject to change) from 6:35 until 7:30 p.m. Following the autograph session, they will spend an inning on the radio broadcast with Cougars play-by-play announcer Joe Brand.

There is a limit of two autographs per player and four autographs total. Fans will need to provide their own items to be autographed and no posed photographs will be allowed in order to accommodate as many people through the line as possible.

Wilson, a starting outside linebacker, who was drafted by the Bears in 1980, was part of one of the most dominating defenses in football history which helped lead Chicago to their eventual Super Bowl XX victory in 1985. He played nine years in the NFL, including one year as a member of the Los Angeles Raiders, before retiring in 1989.

In 2013, Wilson was inducted into the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame.  Hampton, a versatile defensive linemen, was drafted by the Bears in 1979 and spent his entire professional career in Chicago before retiring after the 1990 season. The four-time Pro Bowl selection’s defense was also key to the Bears Super Bowl XX victory. Hampton was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

’85 Bears Night also features a baseball giveaway, presented by Country Financial for the first 1,500 fans in attendance. ZOOperstars! will provide in-game entertainment with their hilarious antics followed by a post-game fireworks show, presented by Melrose Pyrotechnics. The Family Four-Pack Fireworks Friday special is available for purchase which includes four reserved seat tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and one giant bag of popcorn for $39. Family Four-Pack Fireworks Friday packages are not available for purchase on the day of the game.
