The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that daily lane closures will take place on U.S. 30/Illinois 56 between County Line Road and west of Interstate 88, in Big Rock and Sugar Grove, beginning this week.

The closures are necessary for a resurfacing project.

In order to complete the work, daily lane closures will take place in both directions on U.S. 30/Illinois 56 from County Line Road to west of Interstate 88.

The scope of the project includes resurfacing, as well as the removal and replacement of concrete curb and gutter. The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2017.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
