Spectacular Geneva Gardens Will Be Showcased in June 16-17 Event

If you want to see some spectacular residential and public gardens, you’ve got to check out “A Garden Variety — Geneva Gardens in Bloom,” set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 16, and Saturday, June 17, in Geneva.

This year’s Garden Walk will feature five private and three public gardens and will showcase diversity in gardening styles. There will also be a plant sale and French Market/Boutique at one of the private gardens.

The Garden Club’s guest speaker will be Roy Diblik of Northwind Perennial Farm in Burlington, WI, on Saturday only at one of the public gardens. Diblik is the author of The Know Maintenance Perennial Garden, and his garden designs emphasize plant relationships to maintenance and cost. His design and planting projects include the Louis Sullivan Arch Garden for the Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago and the lakeside plantings for the new Oceanarium at the Shedd Aquarium.

The funds raised go back to the community as scholarships, by replacing/replanting trees in the Geneva parks, Geneva Beautification and planting flowers in containers at the Geneva History Museum, CASA Meditation Garden and at the Living Well Cancer Resource Center.
