St. Charles Festival of the Fox Sails Into Town June 8-11

The St. Charles Festival of the Fox (formerly River Fest) featuring classic Dragon Boat Races, sails into St. Charles June 8-11. Sponsored by the city of St. Charles and presented by Pride of the Fox, events include two music stages, a Water Ski Show, family movie night, food, entertainment and more.

“The Festival of the Fox is a unique local, free summertime event, centered around one of our city’s greatest assets, the Fox River,” said Event Coordinator Vanessa Bell-LaSota. “It celebrates everything that makes our hometown like no other!”

Festival Concert in The Park, June 8, Lincoln Park 7 p.m.

Enjoy a performance by the Gregory Hyde Band, along with kids’ Chinese kite giveaways.  Don’t forget to pick up your festival program here!

Special Needs Family Day June 9, Pottawatomie Park, 4 to 7 p.m.

Families of School District 303 and School District 302 with special needs children are invited for a special day at Pottawatomie Park. Kid-friendly activities, food, vendors, giant inflatable maze, games, caricatures, face painting, kites, CCI “Pet a Puppy Yard”, respite care and more are all free to families who register on-site.

Entertainment All Day, Pottawatomie Park June 10 and June 11

Throughout the weekend, visitors will be treated to a live music stage, food, vendor market, a giant corn maze, the Pet a Puppy Yard, games and activities, a Bill Cho Tae Kwon Do show, dance demos, and more.

At dusk on Saturday, join us for Family Movie Night at Pottawatomie Park, featuring a showing of Moana, popcorn, and Chinese lanterns.

Dragon Boat Races June 10 and June 11, Pottawatomie Park

The Annual Dragon Boat Races begin Saturday, with a dock christening at 8 a.m. by St. Charles Mayor Ray Rogina. Next, “Awakening the Dragon,” a 2,000- year old traditional ceremony which tells the colorful story behind the Dragon Boats, immediately follows. Then the races begin, with a break for the St Charles Rowing Club on Saturday and the National Champion Wonder Lake Water Ski Show on Sunday at 1 p.m.

New This Year! “St. Charles Day” June 10, Baker Memorial Park, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A revival of a traditional celebration of St. Charles returns this year on Saturday, featuring “St. Charles In Bloom,” a flower pot decorating contest, tours of Baker Memorial Methodist Church, live music, and kids crafts hosted by the St Charles History Museum. Longtime residents are invited to come out to our Living History Recording Booth and tell their St. Charles story.
