Brush-up on your nature photo skills with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County’s new, smartphone photography program.

“Smart Art: Nature Photography with a Smartphone” is an outdoor class taught by professional photographer Emily Cudworth. She’ll help students “see” nature through the lens of their smartphone camera, engage with nature and maximize their discoveries.

The class will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at Dick Young Forest Preserve, 39W115 Main St., Batavia. The class will meet at the shelter, then head into the field to discover subject matter in the natural world.

Cudworth will guide everyone in learning the effects of light on natural objects, composition and technique. Students will also have an opportunity for feedback and sharing their work.

Registration is $20. “Smart Art: Nature Photography with a Smartphone” is open to ages 16 and above. Advance registration is required. Call 630-444-3190 or e-mail programs@kaneforest.com to register.
