Job Opportunity: Kane Schools Experiencing Shortage of Career and Technical Educators

Kane County schools are experiencing a shortage of career and technical educators, according to a report the Kane County Human Resources Consortium.

And that shortage translates to teaching job opportunities for people with a variety of real-life work experience and skill sets.

The KCHRC, a cooperative effort among Kane County’s nine public K-12 school districts and the Regional Office of Education, is letting residents know about the opportunity for Career and Technical Educator work throughout Kane County school districts.

CTEs provide instruction in classes focused on areas such as agriculture, business and marketing, family and consumer sciences, heath science, technology and engineering. A full list of classes that fall under Career and Technical Education can be found on the Illinois State Board of Education’s website.

“Part of a well-rounded education for our students is giving them the opportunity to explore different careers that they can choose to pursue in the next stage of their life,” said Regional Superintendent Patricia Dal Santo. “As a Career and Technical Educator, you have the opportunity to give back to the community and to pass your profession on to the next generation.”
