UPDATE: Kane County 24-Hour Rainfall Totals, Next Comes Flash Flood Friday
In the 24-hour period prior to about 8 a.m. today (Thursday, July 20, 2017), Elgin was hardest hit by rainfall in Kane County, with 2.38 inches.
It’s important to note that there were significant storms after 8 a.m., as well, and more rain is in the forecast.
The highest rainfall total in northern Illinois was 3.65 inches, reported in Rockford.
More rain is on the way. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.
