Kane County Ready To ‘Rejuvenate’ 5 Roads, Fabyan/Kaneville Intersection
We all could use a little rejuvenation now and then. The same is true for Kane County roads.
Starting this weekend, one major intersection and five roads will get their chance.
Fabyan and Kaneville Intersection
Kane County will begin the process of applying an asphalt sealer/rejuvenator at the Fabyan Parkway at Kaneville Road intersection starting Sunday, July 9.
This intersection has been resurfaced within the last two years. The material placed on the road will extend the life of the asphalt by reducing the water penetration that leads to freeze/thaw damage and preventing oxidation of the asphalt material. The process will involve spraying the rejuvenator liquid, allowing the liquid to cure, placing sand on the treated roads for traction, and then sweeping up the excess material.
The work at this intersection is estimated to take four hours, pending weather. To minimize traffic disruption, this work is being performed between the hours of 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday, July 9.
