Next KCAC Low-Cost Rabies/Microchip Clinic Set For Aug. 5

So far, 2017 has proved to be a great year for Kane County Animal Control!

Adoptable cats and dogs have found wonderful homes, proving once again that everyone deserves a second chance. The community continues to reach out to donate everything from dog and cat food to paper towels to dollars and KCAC personnel appreciate each and every item received.

Kane County Animal Control is hoping to keep this positive trend going by holding the final three rabies vaccine and microchip clinics for 2017 during the months of August, September and October.

The last scheduled dates times are:

  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5
  • 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13
  • 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4

The clinics will be held at Animal Control, 4060 Keslinger Road, Geneva.

Only one-year rabies vaccines will be offered. It is required that all residents of Kane County purchase a registration tag at the time the vaccine is administered.

No appointment is necessary to take part in the clinics, but please make sure your pet is either on a leash or in a carrier while at the clinic, as well as handled by an adult, 18 years or older.

All owners must verify their animal has not bitten anyone in the past 10 days.

If your pet requires a muzzle, it is the owner’s responsibility to provide it and to fit it on the pet prior to arriving at the clinic.

If your pet is neutered or spayed, the cost for the rabies vaccine and registration tag is $20, $35 for non-neutered. Seniors pay only $10 for the vaccine. The tag is free.

KCAC is also offering microchipping for $15 during the clinic. Microchipping your pet is one way to bring your pet home if they should ever get lost. Most police departments and vet clinics can scan a pet with a chip scanner. Keeping the information with the microchip company up-to-date is all an owner needs to do.

If paying by credit or debit cards, only MasterCard and Visa are accepted. There is a 2.45 percent additional fee added to the total. Checks and cash are also accepted as payment.
