Coroner IDs Person Found in Aurora Garage

The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the person whose body was found Friday in a detached garage of a home on Second Avenue in Aurora.

The Aurora Police Department reported that officers were dispatched at around 11:42 a.m. Friday (Aug. 18, 2017) to a home in the 800 block of Second Avenue for a deceased subject located in the unattached garage. The deceased was located by a cleaning crew who was clearing out the property for the buyer of the house, which was for sale.

The identity, gender and race of the deceased was not released pending an autopsy, but police spokesperson Dan Ferrelli said there was “no apparent danger to the public.”

The Kane County Coroner’s Office issued a news release on Tuesday (Aug. 22, 2017) identifying the decedent as Brandon E. Page, 19, of Aurora.

The Coroner’s Officer performed an autopsy on Monday, but due to the condition of the body, no positive identification could be made at that time. The subsequent identification was made via a forensic odonatologist.

The preliminary cause of death is pending completion of the medicolegal death investigation, the Coroner’s Office said.

The death investigation is ongoing, Aurora police said.
