Elgin’s Eastside Recreation Center Hosts Aug. 19 Open House, Ribbon-Cutting For Woodview Park
The Eastside Recreation Center, located at 1080 E. Chicago Street in Elgin, is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, that will include a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly constructed and adjacently located Woodview Park.
The ribbon cutting will be held at noon, and a free lunch will be provided immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The long-anticipated neighborhood park includes a splash pad that is expected to be open in time for the Aug. 19 ceremony. The park cost about $268,000 and was funded by a federal Community Development Block Grant.
The ERC is offering free admission to its fitness facility all day. Refreshments will be served and attendees can tour the facility. The event will offer raffle prizes including a drawing for a bicycle at 1 p.m.
