KDOT August Update: Longmeadow Progress, Half Bliss Bridge Done, Plank Completed

Longmeadow Parkway

Longmeadow Parkway roadway widening/reconstruction is taking place from west of Randall Road to east of White Chapel Road.

Topsoil continued to be stripped and embankment placed along the new roadway in preparation for anticipated concrete paving starting in August. Multiple crews are laying new storm sewer lines and laterals along Longmeadow Parkway while continuing to work around the weather. Anticipated completion date is November 2017.

Bliss Bridge Replacement Half Done

The first half of the bridge deck has been completed and traffic patterns have been switched to accommodate work on the second half of the bridge for the Bliss Road over Blackberry Creek bridge replacement project. Anticipated completion date is fall 2017.

Plank Road Culvert Replacement Completed

Construction continued as crews set the new box culvert, remove the old structure and are wrapping up the remaining site work on the Plank Road over the tributary to Burlington Creek culvert replacement project. The project was completed recently ahead of schedule.

Work Zone Safety Alert

Drivers in this project area should be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, watch for construction workers and construction vehicles entering or leaving the site, and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone.
