Lane Closures Under Way at Broadway and Galena in Aurora

Lane closures and alternate traffic patterns at the intersection of Broadway and Galena Boulevard will begin today (Monday, Aug. 7) as a rebuilding project for ComEd commences.
During the project, southbound and northbound travel on Broadway will be limited to one lane in each direction in the immediate area.
In addition, the following alternate traffic patterns will be in place:
- Left turns onto Broadway from westbound Galena are restricted. Drivers will only be able to turn right on Westbound Galena as they approach Broadway.
- Left turns onto Broadway from eastbound Galena are permitted. The left turn lane will be open. There will be one thru lane open for eastbound Galena as it approaches Broadway. That lane will be the shared right turn/thru lane.
- Left turns from southbound Broadway onto Galena are also restricted. Drivers will need to follow the detour taking Benton to Lincoln back to Galena.
Detour routes along Benton, Lincoln and Downer will be posted.
The project is expected to be completed in four weeks, conditions permitting.
