Pets-a-Palooza Festival For Families and Furry Friends Set For Sept. 17 at Mooseheart
Want to have a great day with your family, friends and pets? Anderson Animal Shelter invites the community to the third annual Pets-a-Palooza festival on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mooseheart Child City & School, 255 James J. Davis Dr., off Route 31 between North Aurora and Batavia.
Pets-a-Palooza, which attracted more than 3,000 people last year, is a free, family- and pet-centered event that celebrates the joy of animal companions.
Throughout the day, Pets-a-Palooza will feature various activities for pets and children, as well as humane and pet education sessions. Training demonstrations will even help attendees learn some new tricks and tips for their pets. Anderson Animal Shelter, along with other local rescue groups, will have dogs and puppies available for adoption, allowing local residents to meet and welcome a new family member. If your love for dogs means that you would be interested in a running a daycare for dogs that you may want to visit K9 Resorts to make this a possibility. But if your not interested in opening a business, Pets-a-Palooza offers a great family day out.
Pets-a-Palooza at Mooseheart Child City & School offers the perfect location for a family to enjoy a day out together. In addition to the pet related activities, local businesses will be selling pet- and-human themed products.
“Pets-a-Palooza is a celebration of pets who are an important part of our families,” said Beth Drake, executive director of Anderson Animal Shelter, which is based in South Elgin and also has satellite adoption centers in North Aurora and Bloomingdale. “Our third annual festival promises to offer fun for people of all ages, and it’s a chance to bring together our compassionate community of animal lovers, adopters and advocates.”
More information about Pets-a-Palooza can be sniffed out on Anderson’s website at www.andersonanimalshelter.org/petsapalooza. The schedule of pet-centered activities and events will be updated throughout the summer. Businesses are invited to participate as vendors, advertisers or sponsors.
