20th Annual Dundee Heritage Fest Is This Weekend!
Join the villages of West Dundee and East Dundee this weekend — Friday, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 17 — for the 20th Annual Dundee Heritage Fest, a local favorite along the Fox River.
Heritage Fest is free to attend and provides activities for all ages.
The fun begins with an 8 p.m. Friday night fireworks display over the Fox River, bookended by high-energy live entertainment from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 11 pm.
Live music and entertainment continue throughout the weekend on three stages, representing a wide variety of genres and decades, including many local musicians. Friday night’s headliner is Final Say and on Saturday, we have 7th Heaven. Click here for a complete list of bands.
Saturday and Sunday are packed with things to do, see and eat. There is truly something for everyone, including a carnival in East Dundee, a juried Arts & Crafts Fair with over 100 vendors, an Antique & Vintage Market, an expansive Car Show, loads of giveaways and raffle opportunities from local business and not-for-profit organizations, and hands on crafts, games and activities for kids at Grafelman Park.
Sunday brings a few special events, beginning with the Dundee Lions Club’s Community Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., with proceeds put toward the Lions’ charitable activities in the community. Show off your skills in the Baggo Tournament; Register in advance or just show up at noon. Line up along Main Street at 2 p.m. as the Dundee-Crown Homecoming Parade makes its way from Van Buren Street East Dundee to Fifth Street in West Dundee.
Of course, an extensive menu of food and drink options will be on hand from numerous vendors throughout the weekend – including Emmett’s craft beer brewed right here in West Dundee, Ruthella’s New Orleans cuisine, Duke’s Blue n BBQ, authentic Mexican cuisine from Taqueria El Tio Ramos of West Dundee, fest favorites such as funnel cakes and lemon shake-ups, and much more.
Whether you bring the whole family for a full day of fun, come for the art and antique fairs or the Community Breakfast, or enjoy an evening out with music and drinks, you will not be disappointed by all that Heritage Fest has to offer. Did we mention that the forecast for this weekend looks absolutely gorgeous! Don’t miss this chance to enjoy the last bit of summer with friends, family and neighbors.
