Check Out These 6 Amazing Kane County Homes on Oct. 7 Statewide ‘Solar Tour’
More than 125 homes and businesses will be showing off their solar panels on the Illinois Solar Tour — and six of those tour stops are right here in Kane County!
The solar tour takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7.
The Illinois Solar Energy Association is hosting the 11th annual Illinois Solar Tour. As a part of the National Solar Tour throughout the United States, solar-savvy home and business owners in Illinois will open their doors to show off their solar installations.
The FREE open-house event allows attendees to see real-life examples of how their neighbors are harnessing the sun’s energy to generate power or heat, while also slashing their monthly utility bills.
In recent years, this self-guided tour has attracted more than a thousand people from across Illinois. The tour offers participants a direct perspective on the process of going solar, as well as the economic and environmental benefits. Solar power in Illinois is poised for even more growth in the very near future after the recent passing of the Future Energy Jobs Act, and attending the tour is another great way to learn how to take advantage of opportunities from the new legislation.
