East Aurora School District 131 Accepts Resignation of Interim Superintendent

East Aurora School District 131 interim superintendent Dr. Marion Hoyda has resigned but duties will continue under her co-interim superintendent, Dr. Mark McDonald, the district said in a statement on the district’s website.

Hoyda and McDonald have been leading the district since July 2016. Both have beeb paid on a daily basis and can work 100 days per year without facing pension penalties.

District 131 Statement on Dr. Marion Hoyda Resignation

Dr. Marion Hoyda has voluntarily resigned from her position as interim superintendent for District 131. Dr. Hoyda will continue to work in the areas of curriculum and instruction, which are her specialties, until Sept. 29.

“We thank Dr. Hoyda for her 14 months of interim service at District 131,” said Annette Johnson, District 131 School Board president. “She provided tremendous support for the district at a difficult time and has enabled us to accomplish much over the past 14 months. “

“The school board has full confidence in our interim superintendent, Dr. (Mark) McDonald, as well as our experienced administrative team, faculty, and support staff to continue the great progress made over the past year,” Johnson said.

Dr. Mark McDonald will continue as interim superintendent. In the days ahead, the Board will continue their discussions on the steps for ensuring the best leadership for the district.
